This weekend the Gold Coast was considered the liveliest place in Australia. Kicking off with a bang, the Gold Coast 600 started off the vibe, with car enthusiasts coming together, the vibe along Surfers Paradise was electrifying. Then on Friday night, our well-known, favourite club reopened its doors, hosting a killer weekend. Amnesiia, formally known as Platinum Nightclub, relaunched and we were lucky enough to win double passes to the opening night, to see no other than trance legend MaRLo .

Having grown up on the Gold Coast, I have seen this club transform since my teenage years; once being an under 18’s club, to evolving to become one of the best dance clubs the Coast has to offer, and Friday Night was no exception.

Walking into the club you are greeted by red carpet, then the lights hit you and straight away we had smiles on our faces; it felt luxurious, like we were the headlining act!

Upon first glance, Amnesiia now houses a lot more VIP booths, which leaves very little seating areas. Many international clubs have transformed this way and this is very much the vibe Amnesiia brings, both my husband and I commented on. Shortly after our arrival, and once the venue started to fill up, the venue brought out dancers in LED light up suits, which very much felt like we were in a Vegas or Ibiza venue - this was a new touch and one that the club goers seamed to love, having observed so many patrons getting photos and having a dance with them. Amnesiia looks as though they are bringing all the stops!

Warming up the decks for MaRLo , was local Gold Coast DJ J-Dub, and what an absolute killer warm up set he provided for MaRLo ! J-Dub played all the classic bangers and watching him work those decks was truly mesmerizing. I say watch this space, as this is someone who will begin taking off!!!

We managed to meet the man of the hour, MaRLo , moments before he began his headlining set. Just as we had hoped, MaRLo was extremely nice and kind; he really dedicated time to his fans. What an awesome dude he is!

The venue packed out for MaRLo , and he truly never disappoints. I have seen him many times over the years, most recently was mainstage at Tomorrowland this year, and this set still brought all the elements of a mainstage performance; you can see just how passionate he is watching him work those decks. He threw down some classics, as well as a few surprises, including a new ID track, which we can’t wait for its release!!!

The night was absolutely vibing; it honestly felt like a new show, which seems so appropriate; new club, new track, new show! MaRLo 's energy was electric and proved he is such a humble person, as during his performance he still made time for his fans; not once was he shying away from taking a picture or two, or reading messages off patron’s phones.

One of the best moments of his set, was when he brought out Malaysian DJ Boris Foong (Armada Music, Reaching Altitude, A State of Trance). Boris will be supporting MaRLo on his upcoming Altitude show in Kuala Lumpar on November 2nd.

So what could this mean? Will Boris be joining MaRLo more often here in Australia? Is there a new co-lab in the works? Who knows! I guess we will just have to wait and see what’s next to come!

As always, it's always such a pleasure to support our local legends, and having the opportunity to support both MaRLo and Amnesiia's reopening both on the same night was truly just so magical.
