The Biggest Night In Brisbane Hardstyle History; “Believe in Hardstyle”!
Just months ago “Believe In Hardstyle” featuring Da Tweekaz was announced and the hype train instantly got rolling for the biggest night in history for the Hardstyle scene in Brisbane.
Undoubtedly, Shokk Events have never had a bigger event than this. Not only was it a chance to show Brisbane Hardstyle music, it was also a chance to show the music scene that this genre belongs in the biggest and best venues in the city.
Fortitude Music Hall had previously hosted many big name artists, but never an electronic event of this scale. The venue itself can hold upwards of 3,000 people if full, which was unheard of territory for any Shokk event in Brisbane.
The stage was set for this incredible night to unfold. Here’s what happened:
As always, crowds started to gather quite early with the doors opening at 5:15pm with the first set of the night beginning at 6pm. The night began with James Edwards followed by a triple act of Akajic, Anarchy and Geonovis. With the energy building up, next was Annihilate b2b Seratonia, followed by Hektic and Avox where the crowd really started to pile in. Up next and with probably the best of the night from the local DJ’s was Druid. His set had the whole crowd going crazy and I was incredibly impressed with his stage presence. But up next was the headliners themselves, Da Tweekaz!
Honestly one of the best sets I’ve been at. They are renowned for their on stage energy and they did not disappoint with everyone in the room going absotutely mental to tracks like “Tequila”, “We go up” and “D.W.X”
This amazing night hit its peak when they asked for the crowd to do EDM’s iconic festival group activity, Crowd Control (Otherwise better known as “Left, Left, Left, to the Right, Right, Right”. I have seen, and partook in many Crowd Controls at international festivals, however, it was truly amazing seeing a full, local, Brisbane hall jumping together. It was also worth noting that they only did this in Brisbane, which is a massive compliment to the crowd, in my opinion. The night was capped off with them throwing limited edition rubber ducks into the crowd. Da Tweekaz proved to be the perfect act for Shokk’s biggest night this year.
After Da Tweekaz, two interstate DJ’s Technikore and Raw Dawes closed out the night in style!
A big shout out to MC D for being the host of the night who as always was great!
The night itself was incredibly run, with too many lasers to count, an incredible sound system and with the amazing venue setup, everything fell into place perfectly.
Once again we owe it to the Andy’s and their team behind Shokk Events for creating such a mind-blowing event. I have said it before, and especially after Da Tweekaz event, that I believe this is just the beginning of huge things to come from the Hardstyle scene in Brisbane.
