Shokk events are well known for bringing the heat when they host any event, and their newly found presence on the Gold Coast at Revolution Nightclub has us wanting to be all up in that FIRE.

Friday the 22nd of November marked a new chapter in Shokk’s history books when they unleashed their plans for a super club right here on the Gold Coast. Shokk has been making their presence known on the Gold Coast scene over the last 18 months hosting events at Shooters Nightclub and Amnesiia (formerly Platinum).

We were lucky enough to have been provided behind the scenes access to the transformation of Revolution by the founders of Shokk events, Andy Nguyen and Andy Vo.

Come with me as I take you on the Shokk journey

BTD’s journey with Shokk on the GC began on Wednesday when we were invited to view the work the Shokk team were undertaking to transform Revolution nightclub from a standard Gold Coast club into a Super Club. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Donny Palmer a local DJ on the Gold Coast who took us through the vision of Shokk. From the moment we met Donny it was clear how much this vision means to him as he oozes love and respect for the industry. Stay tuned for our up and coming interview with Donny where we will go deeper into his passion.

Present on the night, and getting into the renovations themselves, were the creators of Shokk the Andy’s, and yes they are both called Andy. We were instantly greeted with smiles and big hugs and straight away they make you feel like part of the Shokk Family.

The Andy's took me through their vision for the club, which is not just about creating a Super Club but a place where people can come enjoy the music and be taken to another level with world-class production. They want the club to be a place people can call home and feel comfortable being themselves. Where they remove the focus on bottle service and get back to the roots of why people go out to hear good music and have an amazing experience.

Continuing to look at the work needing to be completed, I was a little unsure how they were going to pull this off in a little over 2 days. The club was almost at the bare bones with few lights and little signs of any type of production. I was very much looking forward to witnessing how they could transform this club in the coming days to see their vision come alive.

We here at BTD were lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Shokk events at Revolution Nightclub on Friday and here’s how it went down.

Walking into the club, the first thing I notice is the amount of work that has gone into transforming this club. When greeted by Andy the first thing I said was “WOW, this is incredible”. They not only transformed the club in little over 3 days, but the feel of the club was so different I almost felt like I was attending an overseas music festival.

Where there was just a stage 2 days ago, there was now a massive LED screen with visuals, lasers that had me wanting to reach out and touch, mist machines and lights that lit up the room. There was also a deck table simple but so effective and to finish it off they installed rails in front of the stage. Now if you are anything like me, you would be ecstatic when seeing this, as riding the rail at any show is one of my all-time favourite things to do.

One thing I’ve learnt about Shokk is they really invest in our local talent. Staying true to this the first two DJ’s of the event were on debut (Nugget & Shira & Dsyko).I would not have guessed that they were on debut as they both threw down awesome sets. What a way to do your first ever show!

As the night progressed more hardstyle fans began filling the club and the energy inside the place was intense. Watching the crowd was like looking into something you would see in a movie. People were totally free, dancing without judgement and interacting with each other. This is not something you really see in clubs on the Gold Coast and it made me extremely happy to witness.

By the time the headliner, Devin Wild hit the stage the place was packed with patrons who were eagerly awaiting this international hardstyle legend. This is the first international artist Shokk has brought to the Gold Coast and what a name to start with. As they say, it’s only up from here!!

Being around the Shokk team, it's clear that they are a family. They were so welcoming and so passionate about this project. We cannot wait to witness the success of Shokks presence at Revolution Nightclub and here on the Gold Coast and see what they bring next!!

Shokk with be hosting homegrown every Saturday night from 9pm at Revolution Nightclub 3-15 Orchid Ave, Surfers Paradise QLD. Get yourself down to the club this Saturday night for a night like no other!! If world-class production, epic tunes and incredible service is your thing then you’re in for a treat
