The Sunset Bros have been lighting up dance floors all over the world for over a decade, and they are pioneers of Australian dance music. They have worked with Fedde Le Grand, Bob Sinclair and Cascade over the years; however, 2018 - 2019 might have been their biggest year yet.

On top of producing “I’m Feeling It” which is a staple for some of the biggest acts in the world, it was also Armin van Buuren’s favourite track of 2018! The local Sydney boys have recently signed with Universal Music (UK) and are now a regular on the European club and festival circuit having a regular spot at the famed Cavo Club in Mykonos and playing Creamfields UK.

Glen and Adriano were fresh off a plane from Greece when I caught up with them. They had lots to talk about.

BTD - “In the air” went crazy all over the world, when you were creating it. Did you think it would be as big as it was and did it put extra pressure on your sets or writing?

SB - We wanted to make this track our own; In fact, we never intended for it to be released. We wanted to use it in our live sets as an edit. However, as we got further into the production of it, we thought this could be huge.

We did not press on it too hard because you know; You don’t want to be the guys saying look how good we are hahaha and lucky for us, it blew up!

BTD - Last year was massive with the debut of your show “We Are Sunset”. It is coming up again at the Enmore Theatre and it has SOLD OUT! Will we see you take the show to other cities? 

SB - Oh damn, we would love to take it on the road, if the people want it, sure why not?

BTD - 2018 -Another very successful year of touring of Europe and the UK and even getting a spot at Creamfields. Are those regions going to be a focus for you from now on? 

SB - Yeah, that is always a big focus each year now that we are breaking through over there (Europe) we are working on a more international sound. That being said, there is no place like home.

BTD - We are heading back into the golden years of festivals. How important is it to you guys to play these shows for your hometown fans? 

SB - Playing at home is the most important thing to us, look at the lineup that Festival X is brining, how can you not want to be a part of that? We can play all across the world and we will always focus on home. If it were not for the hometown fans, we would be nowhere.

BTD - What’s your creative process when you sit down to make new music?

SB - It all comes from one idea or sound. For instance, we were in a hotel room in Ireland and Adriano had an idea so when we got to Scotland we book a studio grabbed a few bottles of vodka and a new track was born hahaha

BTD - Is there any new music on the horizon?

SB - Yeah, we have coming out, we have a new track with Amber Shepard called “Fly Away” which is out now!! We also have another track “The Calling” coming out on the 6th of September; This is very different for us, but we are excited to see how it goes.

BTD - You have worked with some of the biggest names in the business if you could pick any act that would you want to work with next? 

SB - Every time we get this question we think more and more about people that are living and dead. There are so many artists that we would love to work with like Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and other legends. Besides them, if we are talking about EDM acts that are alive today.

Has to be the giants of our game like Armin, Tiesto and Prydz.

BTD - What’s the craziest thing you have seen from behind the decks? 

SB–Hahaha, Man we have been around for so long we have seen so much!! I think a couple having sex has to be the top of the craziest thing we have seen.

Chatting with Glen and Adriano was something I had been looking forward to for a while. They are in a real transition phase in their career and stepping up their game. I cannot wait to see what is next in store for The Sunset Bros.
