Nothing is more exciting to me than a Protocol release, as it is by far my favourite label with me being a massive Nicky Romero fangirl. You could imagine my excitement when Marcus Santoroto started posting teasers of a new release.
This year we have seen Marcus Santoro releasing track after track showcasing his diverse sound. He always leaves you wondering what is next to come and this time I could not have hoped for a better track. Marcus Santoro teams up with FaderX, who are no strangers to Protocol, having already released 9 tracks with the label. This was a great choice as the pairing on this track showcases both artists’ styles and makes for a great Progressive House anthem.
So listen up because I am about to give you a low down on the latest Protocol Recordings release by Melbourne local Marcus Santoro and Italian trio, FaderX, ‘Out Of My Head’.
As the track starts you are greeted with melodic vocals which automatically have you singing along with the words. The opening has this euphoric feel that transports you to another place. Throughout the track progression, you are met with undulating basslines and those captivating vocals that the track opened up with. The track showcases a variety of progressive house, big room, and trance styles, combined to bring you that typical Marcus Santoro sunset-feel vibe. With hard-hitting build-ups paired with those emotive vocals, this is one track that will make you wish you were standing in the crowd somewhere listening to this, eyes closed and just feeling the music.
Is it bad to say that maybe the Melbourne lockdown is a good thing, as it is bringing us a year of insane releases from Marcus Santoro? Well maybe I’m being just a little selfish but who can blame a girl for loving the music he is releasing, right? Let me know your thoughts on another insane creation from Marcus Santoro.
