This month, Amsterdam becomes the centre of the electronic music world as artists, producers, media, film and television descend on the city for Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).
(Credit ADE Website) ADE's festival program covers the whole spectrum of electronic subgenres, with over 2,500 artists performing in 140 of Amsterdam's finest music and nightlife spaces. In 2018, the festival attracted 400,000 visitors spread out over almost 200 venues, a record number.
ADE is a week-long electronic music event, that turns all of Amsterdam into an electronic music lover’s heaven. Every label worth knowing hosts parties each day and night, and it's all capped off with one of the most stacked festivals of the year, AMF. If partying is not your thing, you can head to one of the many lectures, conferences or label or artist Q&As. Every topic surrounding the music industry is discussed, from emerging technologies, music cross over into film and television, upcoming events, and as mentioned before, Q&As with your favorite artists.
Over the next few months, we will start seeing plenty of new music released, as the studios in Amsterdam are all booked solid 24/7 with the world's biggest artists during this event. It is also a place of discovery; any up and coming artist, media or promoters that wants to enter the industry will be attending and taking meetings.

Other events that are hot on our list include W&W, where they have taken a very different approach with their line up this year, and our annual favourite, the Revealed party, which looks like 4 days of madness!!
If you are heading for the lectures and conference, be sure to check the requirements before you go. Due to the overwhelming demand for some events, you are required to submit a questionnaire/write up on why you want to attend.
As you look over the events being hosted, you can see a definite theme with talent development and mental health taking centre stage. ADE will also have a focus on celebrating 100 years of Electronic music instruments, you can guarantee we will be seeing some cool tech coming out as the industry looks into the future.
If all this is not enough Tomorrowland are hosting their first ever ADE event, "OUR STORY" This is a musical journey though 15 years of Tomorrowland. Taking over the Zigga Dome for 2 days of Tomorrowland headline acts, this will be a once in a life time show.
Just like some of the worlds biggest festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra and EDC, I believe that ADE should be on every EDM fans TO DO list.
