Armin van Buuren Talks ASOT 1000 Status & New Radioshow Format

During episode #972 of A State Of Trance radio show, Armin van Buuren unveiled some huge news, including a change in radio show format and welcoming Ferry Corsten as an official ASOT resident.

This news comes as part of the road to ASOT 1000. Every 50th radio show of A State Of Trance is usually celebrated with several festivals, kicking off around February in Utrecht, which unites thousands of Trance music fans from all across the globe.

However, it seems any plans on celebrating ASOT 1000 in a festival form have been changed due to the global pandemic. Instead, the celebrations will take place in Armin van Buuren’s ASOT radio studio.

“We’ve been doing this for almost 20 years, and as you all know episode 1000 is coming up and everybody’s been asking us, “What are you guys going to do for episode 1000?”, well due to the situation in the world with this terrible virus, plans have changed, but we still have this radio show and we still have this studio,” Armin van Buuren unveiled on ASOT #972.

With large gatherings and travel restrictions still in place throughout most parts of the world, it seems highly unlikely for the annual A State Of Trance festival to go ahead in early 2021.

However the road to ASOT 1000 celebrations have already kicked off with the announcement of Ferry Corsten’s official monthly residency, amongst other Trance acts such as Factor B, Ben Gold and AVIRA invited every week to take over the second half of the show.

Trance fans get ready! This is just the beginning of the Road to ASOT 1000, with many more surprises expected to be announced soon!

Have a listen to Episode #972 here, before #973 airs tomorrow morning!
