Avicii Experience; opening in Stockholm, Sweden 2021.

Two years after his passing, Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, has been honoured in a mass of tributes. From his own book atop of Tomorrowland’s 2019 mainstage, to a named concert dedicated to the late artist, it is no doubt that Avicii left behind a legacy in the EDM scene, undeniably making him the most influential DJ, producer, songwriter, artist and defining voice of the EDM industry our generation has ever seen. And in 2021, a museum, Avicii Experience, will be opening in Stockholm, Sweden, home of the late artist.

Described as an intensively “emotional tribute to one of the true icons of pop culture”, Avicii Experience is an immersive interactive exhibition, giving visitors the ability to get one step closer to understanding both artist Avicii, and Tim, the person behind the iconic DJ/Producer.

Avicii Experience is a part of SPACE, a seven-floor interactive concept hub, combining gaming, music, and content creation, which has been noted as the defining elements of digital culture. Located in Sergels Torg, and led by Gustav Käll, head of esports for Universal Music Group, the location will feature 500 gaming stations, a 650-800 seat arena, recording studios and co-working space, the largest permanent esports venue in Europe.

From “previously unreleased material that was the foundation for the posthumous album ‘Tim'", unseen memorabilia, and the chance to see inside the creative process and collaborations behind many Avicii hit songs, visitors will be taken on a journey through the superstars life, from the reclusive music nerd Tim Bergling, through to his last iconic moments as the celebrated celebrity Avicii was, and still remains today.

A portion of the revenue from Avicii Experience will be donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation, which advocates for the recognition of suicide as a global health emergency, and promotes removing the stigma attached to the discussion of mental health issues, especially in young people.

Included with the news of the Avicii Experience inception, was a statement from friend, and co-writer of ‘Wake Me Up’, Aloe Blacc:

“Tim was a music genius. He was boundless and incredibly driven in his creativity. He had the ability to unite people with his music. I’m certain that with his fans’ memories, his legacy will last forever.”
