This year, Nicky Romero has been on fire with new music releases, as the focus turned towards producing when global touring was cancelled due to COVID-19 in March. In the first month, we were treated to a new release every week to promote his latest EP ‘Redefine’, the new music came in a steady stream for some time after that. However, with the releases slowing, I was left wondering if we would see any more from the Progressive House king. When the announcement came that another track was coming, I was beyond ecstatic.
This track sees Nicky team up with Nashville-based singer/songwriter, Jordan Grace. This is the first collaboration from the duo and man oh man, I am hoping that we see more.
When I first put this track on, I instantly heard the linkage to Nicky’s sound from his Redefine EP - it has all the same tones and baselines as I first heard in ‘I See’.
The track delivers Nicky’s signature melodic and uplifting style, topped off with driving basslines and a catchy vocal riff that is supported by Jordan Grace. Throughout the track, you are met with a softer melody and a very futuristic progression. At first, I thought it was going to be a very similar track to ‘I See’, but the further it progressed, it was clear that this is a whole new direction on its own again.
‘Burning’ is a super energetic anthem which is perfect for warm, summer weather, making you want to grab a cocktail, hands raised and dance the night away. Be sure to have a listen and let me know your thoughts. ‘Burning’ is out now across all platforms.
