CALE'S TOP 10 HARDSTYLE SETS ON YOUTUBE

Written by Cale Hackfath.

With raves seemingly still a long way away, DJ’s have been busy streaming, making tracks and sharing memories from years gone by. It shouldn't be forgotten that there are some absolute classic sets available to watch on Youtube. Here are my top 10 Hardstyle sets and why I think they are so great.

10. Phuture Noize- Defqon 2017

This was the year where Phuture Noize really took off. This set showcased all of the incredible tracks he had produced with six of them falling in the top 30 Hardstyle tracks of 2017.

9. Sub Zero Project - Defqon 2019

Another set which was a part of a milestone year. Sub Zero Project had an incredibly huge 2019. Becoming arguably the biggest and most popular act going around, they threw down an incredible Defqon mainstage set. 2019 was capped off by them claiming the number one track in Hardstyle with 'The Darkest Hour'.

8. Mark With a K & Warface ft MC Chucky LIVE - Reverze 2019

This dynamic duo combined two very unique sounds to create one of the best live sets going around. Performing at the likes of Defqon.1, Tomorrowland and finally at Reverze, this set is full of energy and is a must watch in my eyes.

7. TNT aka Technoboy & Tuneboy- Reverze 2015 “Illumination” (live set)

I couldn't not include these two in the top 10. They are pioneers of the scene and have done so much for the Hardstyle community. I think this set really captures how good they are. Their very classic sound at a time when Hardstyle was beginning to become a staple sound around the world.

6. Showtek- The Return

I was lucky enough to be at this set myself as it was right here in Australia. The build up to this was incredible as it was Showteks return to Hardstyle after leaving the scene for quite a long time. They are one of the reasons Hardstyle began to take off in the early to mid 2000’s and this set brought back all those memories. Enjoy one and half hours of pure nostalgia.

5.Brennan Heart- Defqon 2015- The Gathering

Another legend of the scene, This Brennan Heart set is a classic example of why he is a must see all around the world. This was only The Gathering for Defqon (pre party) and it was still an incredible set filled with Hardstyle classics.

4. Coone- Tomorrowland Mainstage 2018

What can I say? This was a huge milestone in Hardstyle, the day that Hardstyle was played on the mainstage at Tomorrowland. Coone went where no Hardstyle artist had gone before and performed on arguably the biggest stage in the world. He set a great example and solidified Hardstyles name on the mainstage and in the following year, two more artists got the chance to play on the mainstage. 2020 was meant to be even bigger with a Hardstyle dedication planned until sadly Tomorrowland had to be cancelled.

3. Power Hour - Defqon.1 2017

I think any avid Hardstyle fan has watched this set and found themselves full of energy after. In my eyes this was one of the greatest Power Hour’s ever. If you've never watched one of these then this is the one. Power Hour is a one hour set done by the likes of Deepack, Zany, DV8 and Villian. It's packed with anything and everything with incredibly quick transitions. If you ever need a pump up before gym then look no further.

2. Angerfist - Qlimax 2016

Despite playing one of the more intense sub genres of Hardstyle, Angerfist has constantly been one of, if not the most popular Hardstyle DJ. I think this set shows just how good he is and at a time when he started to etch his name into Hardstyle folklore.

1. Defqon Legends Set 2017 (15 years of Hardstyle)

I had no doubt in my mind selecting this as number one. This set was a dedication to the whole history of Hardstyle and included almost every big name in the industry. Even causing Headhunterz and Showtek to make an appearance. This is three hours of the best of Hardstyle.

Hope you all enjoyed this list and get you excited for when raves finally return.
