Brothers, Guy and Howard Lawrence, better known as Disclosure, dropped the ‘Ecstasy’ EP back in February and the duo's legion of fans were over the moon. Now they have more to be excited about as they announced last week that they have a new album on the way titled ‘ENERGY’, and will drop on August 28 via Capitol Records. This will be their long awaited third album following ‘Settle’ (2013) and ‘Caracal’ (2015). With this announcement, they also teased us with the album’s title track accompanied by a new music video directed by Kid Studio.
You may hear a familiar voice being sampled on the title track 'ENERGY' because it features the preacher, Eric Thomas, who was the sampled voice in the now iconic breakthrough track, 'When a Fire Starts to Burn.' The Lawrence brothers explained in a statement that “When we found Eric many years ago, he was like a goldmine of inspirational quotes and motivational speeches”.
The album features a bevvy of acclaimed artist including Kehlani, Syd, Common, Kelis, Slowthai, Mick Jenkins, Channel Tres, Aminé, Fatoumata Diawara, and Cameroon’s Blick Bassy.
