DJs from where? DJs From Mars, that's where!

Here at Behind The Decks we love uncovering artists that might not be on your radar, and this week we have discovered a new found love for the Italian DJ duo, DJs From Mars!

You may not have heard much about these cardboard box wearing DJs, as they are not a common name here in Australia, so let me take you on a journey to why you should be adding them to your playlist!

Having started their journey together in 2003, following a meeting at Italian record label Bliss Corporation, the pair created a few tracks together and DJs From Mars was born.

The pair are famously known as the “mash-up kings”, having created a number of remixes to tracks by Sean Paul, Pitbull, Skrillex, The Prodigy, Queen, Avicii and most recently David Guetta. When you listen to a DJs from Mars mash-up you are never quite sure what they are going to give you, as crossing over a mix of different music genres is a specialty of theirs, including bringing you Rock tracks mixed with a classic EDM banger.

The highlight of my week was being introduced to the duo’s latest mash-up by DJ Veezee on mix #33 of his Electro Sessions. The second I heard the mash-up, I was transported back to some of the best moments I’ve had listening to EDM. DJs From Mars have created an incredible journey through music with this mash-up, featuring the best EDM tracks from 2010 - 2020 and can I say there are some BANGERS! As soon as it started I was standing there jaw dropped, reliving some of the tracks I didn’t even realise I wanted to hear. Not only have they created this EPIC mash-up, but the accompanying video also shows all the video clips from these iconic tracks to go with the beats.

Now I know what you must be thinking, how do you even begin to choose these tracks and make them all flow together in a 10-minute mash-up? Believe me, I was left wondering this also! Well, today you are in luck, as DJs From Mars have gone one better and created a video taking you through a part of the making of this mega mash-up.

Our prediction of these mash-up kings is that we will be seeing a lot more of them in the years to come.
