Eric Prydz - Holosphere Tour; What we know!

A few hours ago, Eric Prydz and Tomorrowland dropped some HUGE news!!

Not only will Eric be bringing his HOLOSPHERE back to Tomorrowland for both weekends, but he will also be taking it on tour. If you are wondering why this is such huge news, please click the picture below and read our review of the only ever HOLOSPHERE show to have been completed so far.

Let’s start by talking about Tomorrowland; Weekend 2 2019, due to the extreme weather at Tomorrowland, tragically the stage holding HOLOSPHERE (Freedom stage) collapsed, damaging parts of Prydz’s mega show. The show could not go ahead due to safety concerns, and the stage itself not being able to pass OHS. Shortly after, Tomorrowland sent an email to all festival goers, concluding Eric would be returning with HOLOSPHERE at Tomorrowland 2020.

When the stage host were announced earlier in the week many of us were left wondering what happened to HOLOSPHERE returning, as there were no Prdya, Mouseville, HOLOSPHERE or EPIC (Eric Prydz In Concert) stages. Speculation begins to fly that he would not be returning due to financial loss incurred from the damage of HOLOSPHERE 2019.

However, this morning the news broke that he would be returning for both weekends, with the only real question left unanswered is who will play host to the HOLOSPHERE?

We know that it really has to be on the Freedom stage due to the lighting requirements, unless Eric does what Eric does best and blows us all away by somehow getting the $5M sphere on the Mainstage.

And in a double announcement drop, not only did we get the news about HOLOSPHERE’s return to Tomorrowland, but Eric and his team dropped that the HOLOSPHERE would be going on the road!! This is massive news considering the size of the sphere, which is 8 meters wide/high, Has 2.4 million LEDs, 150 individual lasers and weighs in at 5 tons!!

Now with this in mind, we can only assume this beast is not going to be going far. It was created and built from the ground up in London and transported by truck to Tomorrowland so it would stand to reason that this is how it will go on tour. The USA might be lucky enough to see the HOLOSPHERE, as Eric always puts on his biggest shows in NYC. In my personal opinion, for someone that has seen the HOLOSPHERE show up close, it would be EPIC in Madison Square Garden in the round.

It would make sense that major European festivals like Creamfields (who have already commented on the video), Ultra Europe and Tomorrowland would all get HOLOSPHERE. With Prydz being the perfectionist he is, I am more inclined to think he will host area shows of his own and display the full power and production as only he can.

Only time will tell!

One thing is for sure, we will NOT be seeing the Holosphere in Australia anytime soon.

I would love to be wrong in fact, I hope and pray I am!

In the meantime enjoy the amazing tease video of the Holosphere.
