When I first started BTD, I wanted to bring a new and exciting EDM based Media Company to Australia. Giving a fresh view on the scene within Australia with a strong local focus.
We seem to have lost that a little over the last few months as we have been gearing up for Europe. However, I was scrolling through my Mixcloud a few days ago looking for new music. When I stumbled across a gym mix by Marshmarlo, when I worked out that this was not Dot Com in a helmet, I pressed play.
What I found was a great progressive house and big room set filled with great edits. It was at this point I was wondering how this little gem came to be in my mix cloud and it turns out I know the man behind the preverbal helmet.
He is a member of our Tomorrowland group and a Gold Coast local. Once I finished his gym mix, I found out he is sitting at #7 on the Mixcloud charts for his mixes and he is pumping out quality mixes on a weekly basis.
Unlike most of us in the industry who come home at horrible hours. Marlos regular club gig involves him getting up when most of us are coming home. He drags himself to several F45 studios at silly hours of the morning to play to a room full of spandex-covered people all juiced up on pre workout.
When I reached out to Marlo for a mix, he was busy working on a set he will play out in Amsterdam next week. I listen to this set this week, and I am even more impressed. He has a trance influence in the set builds yet he plays a lot of houses and big room. I don't know how but it all just works. If this guy makes his own music, we will all be saying his name.
Sit back and wrap your ears around a true local talent and help me support our local music industry by following his social’s and mix could.
