If anyone knows how to guide listeners through quarantine, it’s Daniel Goldstein, or better known by his stage name, Lane 8. His tunes provide some level of melodic therapy that the world invariably needs right now. After the release of the progressive house single ‘Bear Hug’ and the sneaky drop of ‘Groundhog day, a mixtape’, the American producer adds more magic with his latest single ‘Roll Call’.
For this collaboration Lane 8 enlists Anderholm, who is not only part of his This Never Happened label roster (Lane 8’s imprint), but also a former collaborator, remixer, and touring partner. The two released ‘Bluebird’ in 2018, while Anderholm provided support on Lane 8’s ‘Little by little’ tour in the same year, so naturally the two would continue working together and have joined forces to create ‘Roll Call’. The track includes a captivating bassline that is locked down by the lead synths and a light drum-line. With some added vocals, the arrangement brings pure euphoria to any day of isolation.
