Marcus Santoro releases his remake of Planet Funk’s ‘Chase The Sun’.

Written By Kylie Vesey

Marcus Santoro is back with another absolute banger of a track with his remake of Planet Funk’s ‘Chase The Sun’.

‘Chase The Sun’ was first released in 2002 as a classic house track by Planet Funk and if you don't know this song then you have been living/raised under a rock as it is an absolute classic. The second I put Marcus’ remake of the classic on, I was taken back to my early teens, sitting in my lounge room watching RAGE like I did most weekends.

When this track was first released in 2002 it had people all over the world dancing and getting lost in those captivating euphoric vocals. It was one song you just could not get out of your head and since its debut, it’s been used by football clubs around the world, so there is no shortage of love for this track.

So how does Marcus Santoro’s version compare to the original, let's find out!

When the track first starts you don’t get those tones of the hard-hitting vocals that you do with the original. Instead, you are taken on a classic Marcus Santoro progressive house journey. As it begins to progress, you hear hints of his signature sound, with only a very subtle use of those classic ‘Chase The Sun’ lyrics; it's clear that this track focuses less on the iconic vocals and more on the melodies and instrumental work. With a range of hard-hitting synths and progressive drops, it's clear that there has been great production work go into this one.

So overall what do I think of this remake? Well from me it gets the big tick of approval. Marcus has taken a classic that we all know and love and turn it into a modern masterpiece with all those much loved progressive house feels. I’d love to know what you think of this track so drop your comments and let’s start dancing!.
