ADE 2019 has wrapped up for another year and while there's lots to talk about, one of the HOTTEST topics to hit the press is the latest emerging alias, Mr X.
Mr X, a seemingly unknown DJ, was handed the duties to open up with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano's solo headline show Exposed.
This was their biggest headline show to date and giving warm up duties to an unknown was a big call. However, rumors are flying around that Mr X is not unknown at all and in fact former number 1 DJ, Hardwell!!
Mr X took to the stage wearing a mask, hoodie and cap, but event-goers said the DJ's eyes looked like Hardwell, as did his movements. The set genre was house/tech house, making it different to what he would normally play. It doesn't seem so surprising that Mr X could very well be Hardwell, seeing as though he is one of the few DJs these days without an alias.
To add more speculation to the rumor, the Dutch super star was snapped on Sunnery James insta-story after the show. This in itself is interesting, and let me break it down for you; Hardwell had his own label, Revealed Recordings, party the same night in full swing, at the same time photo was taken. It only leaves one to really think why he would be at their show, when he would be supporting his own artists?
If Mr. X turns out to be Hardwell, it would mark almost a year to the day that he announced his hiatus from touring, and coming back under a masked alias could be just what he needs to test the waters again.
I for one hope it is, as he has been missed from the international festival circuit. Seeing him come back in a creative project outside of his norm would be very cool!
