Nicky Romero & Timmy Trumpet collaboration "Falling" is HERE

The start of 2020 is shaping up for Nicky Romero fans, with the Dutch producer taking on the new year one release at a time. We’ve promised to keep you updated on all things Nicky Romero as they progress, and today we honour that promise!

Friday marked the third single release of the year from the ever-evolving Nicky Romero. This time he has teamed up with our very own Aussie turned hardstyle bad-boy Timmy Trumpet on their track “Falling”.

The release of “Falling” is not the first time we have heard this collaboration, for those who follow Nicky Romero, “Falling” was first played as an ID track at Nicky Romero's ADE show in 2019, where Timmy Trumpet joined him on stage. I loved it then and love it even more hearing it again today.

Now I know what you might be thinking, how does a Nicky Romero track even go with Timmy Trumpet, as recently we have seen the Aussie DJ move further into the hardstyle scene. I wasn’t sure either when I first heard this, but boy does it WORK!

This track takes a different direction from both of Nicky’s previous releases; “I See” sits at a BPM of 126 and “Stay” which slows down with a BPM of 116. “Fallen” pushes it higher yet again, with 138BPM and shows no signs of that house vibe we have seen in the past two tracks.

The track starts very slow, not unlike the other 2 tracks released. It has hints of low keys playing, soft lyrics and shows undertones of a trance track in the beginning. Those slow trance vibes did not last long, as within a minute you begin to hear that winding drop building, bringing all those elements of an EPIC mainstage track. Once that beat dropped, I was instantly dancing around the lounge room.

Just when I was thinking how can Nicky top his last release, he drops this absolute festival banger, and I am so glad he did.

I continue to ask what’s next for Nicky, as since his first single release this year, he just keeps evolving and getting better; there is nothing that this man cannot smash!

I guess we will have to wait and see, as I’m sure there will be another release to follow very soon! I will continue to break all things Nicky Romero as they drop, stay tuned for the next addition of Nicky Romero with Kylie!
