OUR THOUGHTS ON AVICII'S FINAL ALBUM "TIM". (Full Album & Tracklist Linked)

Written By Shane Price

This week we were lucky enough to have released the posthumous album by Avicii call simply

“TIM”

I'm not usually for albums released after someone passing but I came into this open-minded. Avicii's death hit me extremely hard, it's not because I am the worlds biggest Avicii fan, in fact far from it, it's simply that a guy my age, with the world at his feet, felt he could no longer live in this world anymore.

While I was on the plane last year heading to Europe for Tomorrowland I noticed on the in-flight movies that the Avicii documentary was playing. After watching it I saw Avicii in such a different light. After listening back to his music you can see where it all comes from, all the emotion, all the pain, all the happiness.

If you are looking for a head banging, 128 bpm album, then “TIM” isn’t for you.

The album feels like Avicii was trying to address things in his life and explain himself, but after his death, it all becomes so relevant. It really reminds me of listening to Chester from Linkin Park and listening back to the music you can literally feel the pain he was feeling.

Peace of mind- a very simple worded song, melodic tune, something that if it came on in a bar no one would really worry too much about, something to pass the time to a well-known song.

Heaven - Is an absolute Avicii tune through and through. When the remixes come out for this song I really hope they keep the vibrant upbeat feel that Tim has always had throughout his music. I would rate this along side of Levels and Seek Bromance for sheer quality and happiness of a song.

SOS - The standout song from this album for me I feel the most emotion while listening to this song. The Laidback Luke remix of S.O.S has honoured Avicii's legacy beyond words can explain and if I was Laidback Luke I would so proud that I had made something so perfect to remember Avicii. The melodic tunes and perfect lyrics made this song an absolute tune and I will put money on it that this will dominate the European festival summer scene this year.

For an outsider and someone who has never heard Avicii before and was listening to this album, I think they would say that it was an enjoyable album some easy cruising music.

I am so on the fence about this album. I absolutely love the fact it wasn’t made to be just bangers and make something out of it that way. You can feel Tims personality absolutely ooze out of this album, but it also makes me generally feel sad listening to some of these songs. How were we to know these songs were warning signs, not only this album but a lot of these songs he produced.

This being said I absolutely love this album and all the people that were apart of this should be super proud of producing this amazing music. It's a hard pill to swallow that this will actually be the last Avicii music we will hear. But I am very happy to have the chance to listen to it and feel the presence of the Swedish wonder child that absolutely blew away the dance music scene.

I have been lucky enough to see Avicii play massive sets throughout the world such as Tomorrowland 2013, Ushuaia, Stereosonics and Future music. I just wish I could have taken in more of these situations.

Wherever you are Tim, I want to thank you for what changes you made to this world, you changed a lot of people. I hope wherever you are, you are at peace, we love you.

If you are ever feeling down there are always ears around that would want to listen,
