Calling all European residents and national DJs - The Sound of Tomorrow DJ competition is back!

Written by Kylie Vesey

Following a hugely successful first edition in 2019, Tomorrowland is bringing back The Sound of Tomorrow DJ competition, except this year debuts with a very different twist.

This year the competition will be coming directly to your homes, closing off with a grand finale livestream across the Tomorrrowland’s social media channels.

To enter all you have to do is the following:

1) Prepare your upbeat festival mix, in keeping with the genres that Tomorrowland champions.

2) Ensure it is no less than 20 minutes and no more than 25 minutes in length – pack as much into that time as possible. Mixes shorter than 20 minutes and longer than 25 minutes will NOT be eligible.

3) Entries must be submitted via the entry form on thesoundoftomorrow.com from a desktop. Entries can’t be submitted via mobile

4) Submit your mix via the enter tab here. If your mix is accepted you will get a confirmation email. After that, it’s time to get busy promoting! Promote your mix on your social channels using #SoundofTomorrow.

5) Entrants must be 18 years old or over.

The four best DJs will be chosen to perform LIVE across Tomorrowland’s social media channels, where they will battle it out for the top spot in front of the People of Tomorrow across the globe and a panel of legendary DJs.

Should you be crowned the ultimate winner, you will perform a DJ set at Tomorrowland 2021 and will get a chance to release an official remix on Fedde Le Grand’s label Darklight Recordings.

The team behind this have put together all you need to know, including tips to help improve your chance of becoming this year’s Sound of Tomorrow winner, take a read of their FAQ and tips page here.

The winner last year had this to say about the experience:

"Participating in The Sounds of Tomorrow competition last year was by far the best DJ experience I've ever had. Meeting the finalists and industry leaders was great, and it felt like a big family. Getting to play my own set at Tomorrowland was a dream come true; I will always remember that day! I feel very grateful to have a mentor like Fedde Le Grand, for believing in me at such an early stage of my career."

So get creating and smashing together those mixes as I don’t know about you, but this is one thing I would love to be a part of!
