Here at Behind The Decks, we love nothing more than a new song release and this week we bring you fresh, local talent right from our own backyard here in Australia. We present to you the latest release from Aussie DJ and producer Highup 'Thinkn’ Bout U'.
Highup has fast been shooting to the top of the scene in Australia, having tracks recognised on the Aria Charts and has gained international support with his releases from some of the biggest names in the industry. Being known for his electrifying red look, great smile and heavy Bass sound, this track brings all of those things along with an Indie-Dance vibe and sunset feel.
This release was created in dedication to Highup’s late nan and what an incredible dedication it is. The song shows so much heart and emotion, we are thankful that Highup has shared such and intimate moment with us. I'm sure that she is most definitely thinkn’ bout him.
The track starts out with a funky eclectic vibe that straight away made me smile and move side to side in my seat. Soon after you are met with very soft, welcoming vocals that set the tone for the track. These vocals give the track a loving, caring, deep connection and with the meaning behind the track, it's clear why. The track boats subtle piano strokes in the background before being met with an electronic melody that brings warmth to the track. As the track progresses, I was found singing along with the chorus and moving along to this great sunset vibe that is felt throughout. This track is a little different direction from Highup and we absolutely love it.
This is Highup’s third release for 2020 on Knight Vision / Warner Music’s label and judging by the way it made me feel it is set to be a hit.
'Thinkin’ Bout U' was released yesterday, 8th of May across all platforms. Make sure you put this one on as it will give you those good, chilled out vibe, whilst making you think about those close to you.
Be sure to keep watching our socials, as next week we catch up with Highup for an interview to talk about all things music and life.
