One of the world’s best, and most sought out festivals in the world, Tomorrowland, released their 2020 stage hosts line up overnight, and boy do the attendees of 2020 look like they are in for a treat!
Tomorrowland returns for its 16th consecutive year with 'The Reflection Of Love'. With over 400,000 attendees visiting the festival across 2 weekends in July, the small city of Boom, Belgium, transforms itself into one of the world’s most popular places in the world.
With the hype train having gone up a notch last weekend prior to the Global Journey sale, last night saw the train go full steam ahead since releasing their stage hosts for the 2020 edition.
While the main stage line up is yet to be announced, the stage host announcement gives us an idea of which artists will be playing on side stages over the festival.
With stages such as Monstercat (self titled) Smash The House (Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike), Glitterbox, Q-Dance, Sexy By Nature (Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano) and Axtone (Axwell) all making their return to Belgium this European summer, there are some big names on (and more importantly, OFF the line up) causing some deep conversation online.
Excitably, we notice that Armin Van Buuren’s A State of Trance (ASOT) will debut BOTH weekends for the first time since Tomorrowland became a double weekend festival in 2017 (in the past, ASOT has hosted the sunday of W2 only). New stage hosts also include Adriatique (self titled after the Swiss duo) and Exhale (Amelie Lens), and W&W debut their record label Rave Culture to share the hosting with Australia’s most loved twin sister-duo Nervo.
The stage host line up also has a noticeable exit from some of Tomorrowland’s annual hosts, with labels such as STMPD RCRDS (Martin Garrix), Anjunabeats (Above & Beyond), Heldeep (Oliver Heldens) and Barong Family (Yellow Claw) all not having an invitation to host their labels for this year. These artists have been notorious on the Tomorrowland line up for years, and without their stages being hosted only leaves a lot of unanswered questions as to why.
The other most talked about label that is missing from the 2020 Tomorrowland stage host line up, is none other that EDM’s elite dj and producer Eric Prydz.
Infamously, Tomorrowland 2019 W2 delivered some of the worst news to festival goers, with the news that Prydz’s epitome of live performances, HOLOSPHERE, was damaged due to extreme heat conditions, and was not deemed safe to enter for W2.
Festival goers were hopeful that the 2020 edition would see Prydz on the stage host line up, bringing back HOLOSPHERE in it’s full, repaired self, or at least HOLO. Unfortunately, that was not the case, with Prydz presumably out of pocket for the damage caused to HOLOSPHERE from the broken Freedom stage, and one would also assume annoyed with how much money was poured in to the creation of HOLOSPHERE, for it to only debut once.
In true Tomorrowland fashion, nothing is announced all in one go. But one thing is for sure, now that stage hosts have been announced, we can begin to see the roll out of phase 1 artists being announced to each stage.
Let us know who you are most excited to (hopefully) see!

Few things,
1. Some stage hosts are yet to be announced (Freedom Fri & Sat, Lotus, Core on given days) so we will hopefully see STMPD, Hexagon, etc
2. Being anal here but Prydz wouldn't be out of pocket... whoever TML contracted to build Freedom would be in the poop for failing to meet design / construction standards. Insurance nightmare.
3. Pryda was 'announced' by Adam K yesterday on One World Radio for Freedom yesterday.
