TOMORROWLAND, SHM, HARDWELL, GARRIX, AVICII & SO MUCH MORE.

As I write this we have seen two artist announcements come out for the 2019 edition of Tomorrowland. However, it's not what we know about the lineup that is interesting but what we don't know!!

SHM

Let's start with over popular SHM, personally, I would rather see all three of them play separately then the radio hit machine they have turned into. That being said they are the world's biggest "EDM supergroup" and the rumour mill has been working overtime about there return to the Tomorrowland mainstage since there return at Ultra. More fuel was added to the fire when Steve Angello was taken out of context in August 2018 about SHM playing Tomorrowland 2019.

Now due to what we know from the line up so far, there is a closing slot still free on Friday and Sunday night. (I will explain further in this article) My money would be on Friday night for the supergroup to return to the Main stage of Tomorrowland.

HARDWELL

Hardwell had a 3-year break from Tomorrowland returning in 2018. He blew us all away with his set only to announce his retirement a few months later. Ever since his retirement, there have been rumours flying about his return to Tomorrowland main stage. He has a special and deep connection to the festival, he loves playing there so much that people close to him have said he is addicted to the crowd. His own intro said "the king is back" " you are going to need a wrecking ball to get me out of here". It could be the perfect one offset for the former number 1 and crowd favourite to keep himself in the spotlight and relevant. I am sure he doesn't want to miss playing Tomorrowland 15th birthday. I am sure we will see him there in one way or another!!

MARTIN GARRIX

The current world number 1 Martin Garrix was officially announced this morning. This came as no surprise since his label STMPD was announced a few weeks ago. What was surprising was to see his name missing from the main stage line up on weekend one. He will be exclusively playing STMPD records stage weekend 1 and mainstage weekend 2. This is great news for those who have been before as his side stage shows are always better than his main stage shows which have not changed since 2016.

AVICII

The biggest and out there RUMOR so far is that there will be a hologram of Avicii in attendance. Now we know this can be done as it has been done at Coachella with the late Tupac. There is not a lot of info around the source of the leak etc so this is as much as I am going to talk about it. If I get more info I will keep you all up to date.

LET'S PUT IT ALL TOGETHER

FRIDAY NIGHT - We know that Martin Garrix will not be playing the main stage on Friday night leaving a vacant spot for someone to close. We know that Eric Prydz will more than likely be closing his stage with his new show Holosphere while Garrix closes his stage. This adds up to a very nicely despised crowd if you were to have SHM on the mainstage. This is where i see the supergroup playing.

SATURDAY NIGHT - The golden boys of Tomorrowland Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are playing Mainstage on Saturday along with Armin Van Buuren and you would assume one of them will be closing which counts out Saturday.

SUNDAY - Is a tough call as you have to take into account this being the closing of the first weekend of Tomorrowland 15th Birthday celebration. Who would be worthy of such an honour? I would love to say Hardwell but only time will tell.

If I was a betting man I would say all will become clear with Friday's announcement as it will be the last announcement before the final Tomorrowland ticket sale.
