We have seen some countries in Europe, and most recently some states in the US, adapt to COVID's new way of festivals, and release drive-in festivals, and good news for Victorians, as it was announced yesterday that Untitled Group launched The Drive-In - Victoria's first drive-in live concert venue. With COVID restrictions still in place, the quick adaption from our norm and inception this new-age festival, Untitled Group strive to ensure we still are able to attend large scale music events, just simply from the comfort of our own vehicles.
Being the very first large scale entertainment event since the Victorian music and live events industry came to a complete halt thanks to COVID-19 in mid-March, The Drive-In's adapted event space intends to reignite the industry by creating jobs and employment in the sector.
Today, Untitled Group announced the first three weeks of the music programme, with the programme kicking off with Client Liaison on Friday, 10 July. See the full 3 week lineup below.
Located inside Flemington Racecourse, home to some of Australia's largest outdoor music festivals, and curated by the team behind Beyond The Valley, Ability Fest, Grapevine Gathering and Wildlands, this pop-up precinct will play host to some of Australia’s best musical talent each weekend with an extended movie & comedy night programme to follow. Boasting both a raised festival stage and large viewing screens, the festival grounds itself will have marked out parking grids for social distancing measures, but will also be entirely accessible for people of all levels of ability. Complimentary tickets are being allocated to the Dylan Alcott Foundation to distribute to those with disabilities. Untitled Group has developed event management plans with health professionals. Appropriate procedures and social distancing measures will be put in place for everyone to enjoy the show safely.
