Wooli has created a dub-tastic remix on Trivecta's 'Wasteland'.

Written by Ben Hargreaves. Track Released 26 June, 2020.

Another huge Ophelia Records release has dropped this week, arriving in the shape of a remix of Trivecta’s track 'Wasteland', by one of the great Dubstep producers, Wooli. In the past Wooli and Trivecta have collaborated together countless times to bring you ‘Island’, ‘Falling’, as well as working with American producer Excision on ‘Oxygen’, so it should be safe to expect big things from this release.

Originally ‘Wasteland’ was released as the second track of Trivecta’s EP ‘Everyday’, which was straight up just a fantastic track. Add in that Wooli spin, and you’ve already lined yourself up a top tier release. As soon as you queue up the track to listen, you can audibly notice the pacing is slightly faster than the original. This tends to do a complete 180 as you arrive at the first major drop, shifting to a slower and heavier (almost typical Wooli sound), a contrast to the original Trivecta style. This simultaneously promotes the deeper bass beyond the vocals (and really shows a good example of variety between both artist and genre). For those listeners who prefer a more dubstep oriented style, they will love this new mix, although those who prefer a track with a more intensive focus on melody and lyrics, they may tend to prefer the original instead.

As a longtime fan of both future bass and dubstep, as well as having followed Trivecta and Wooli for several years, I can truthfully say I’m a big fan of the track, personally, I would lean towards the heavier style of the remix, purely due to my own musical preference. I love the remix, I love the original, and I already want some new tracks to be released on Ophelia Records, to sate my musical taste buds over the coming weeks.

Make sure to check out the track on Ophelia Records, and let us know your opinion!
